रुक्मिणी देवी विश्व प्रसीध भरतनाट्यम की नृटिका थी. रुक्मिणी देवी का जन्म 29 फ़रवरी 1904 को मदुरै मे हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम रुक्मिणी देवी अरुन्दले था. प्रसीध भरतनाट्यम नरितज्ञा होने के साथ साथ उन्होने जानवरों के अधिकारो की रक्षा मे भी विशेष योगदान दिया. रुक्मिणी देवी को संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था. रुक्मिणी देवी ने कालक्षेत्रा नाम के संस्था की स्थापना की थी. 24 फ़रवरी 1986 को उनका देहांत हो गया.
