गुरमेहेर कॉयार दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के लेडी श्री राम कॉलेज के प्रथम वर्ष की छात्रा है. गुरमेहेर ने अखिल भारतिया विद्यार्थी परिषद के खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाई है उनका मानना है की ए बी वी पी दिल्ली विश्विद्यालया मे छात्रों के अभिव्यक्ति के अधिकार पे रोक ल्गा रही है. गौरबताल है की गुर्मेहेर के पिता शाहिद कैप्टन मंदीप सिंह 1999 के कारगिल युध के दौरान शाहिद हो गये थे जब गुरमेहेर महज़ 2 साल की थी.
साल 2016 मे गुर्मेहेर ने इंटरनेट पर एक वीडियो उपलोड की थी जिसमे उन्होने कहा था की उनके पिता को पाकिस्तान ने नही बल्कि युद्ध ने उनसे छीना हैऽउर शांति की अपील की थी.
